NEMA series single asynchronous motor
Characteristic Description
NEMA series motors are fully enclosed self-fan-cooled motors. Its power rating, installation size and electrical and mechanical properties meet the requirements of the American Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) standards.
This motor is novel, well-made, safe and reliable, and has the characteristics of low temperature rise, small noise and vibration, and large starting torque. It is suitable for occasions without special requirements, the highest ambient temperature does not exceed 40 ° C, the altitude does not exceed 1000m, and can be used as a power support for various mechanical equipment. NEMA standard motor frame and end cover made of high strength cast iron, corrosion resistance, long life, frame surface with heat dissipation hole, convenient heat dissipation.
Product Structure
NEMA standard MG1-1.25 to 1.27 defines 20 types of motor housings, including open motors, fully enclosed motors, and motors with encapsulated or sealed windings.
The 7 most common motor housing types are:
1.Open Drip Control (ODP)
Allows air to circulate in the winding for cooling, but prevents the liquid from descending vertically to a 15-degree Angle. Usually used for indoor applications in relatively clean, dry places.
2.Totally Enclosed Fan Cooling (TEFC)
Prevents the free exchange of air between the inside and outside of the frame, but does not make the frame completely airtight.
The fan is mounted on the shaft and pushes air above the frame during operation to aid in the cooling process.
The TEFC style housing is the most versatile and can be used for pumps, fans, compressors, general industrial belt drives and direct connection equipment.
3.Totally Enclosed Non-Ventilation (TENV)
Similar to TEFC, but without cooling fans and relying on conventional cooling. No ventilation holes, tightly sealed to prevent free air exchange, but not totally airtight. These are suitable for areas exposed to dust or general moisture.
4.Totally Enclosed Ventilation (TEAO)
Dustproof fan and blower load motor, designed for shaft mounted fans or belt driven fans. The motor must be installed in the airflow of the fan.
5.Totally Enclosed Flush (TEWD)
Designed to withstand high pressure flushing or other high humidity environments. It can be used in completely closed and harsh environments.
6. Explosion-proof housing (EXPL)
An explosion-proof motor is a fully enclosed machine designed to withstand the explosion of a specific gas or vapor inside the motor housing and to prevent sparks, flashes or explosions from causing a fire outside the motor.
These motors are designed for specific hazardous purposes, such as environments containing gases or hazardous dust. In order to operate safely, the higher operating temperature of the motor must be lower than the ignition temperature of the surrounding gas or vapor.
7. Hazardous Places (HAZ)
Applications of motors are classified by the type of hazardous environment present, the characteristics of the particular material causing the hazard, the likelihood of exposure to the environment, and the safe temperature of the substance considered to cause the hazard.
